Hi friends,
When was the last time the design of tech backfired on you? Last week my phone silenced seven calls from an unknown number but my humanity recognized something must've been wrong and against all restraints from Apple I finally managed to pick up, to my nose swabber guy gushing out, “hey I’m so sorry I made a mistake on your test results, you’re not negative but actually positive, I mean positive. Yeah, you’re positive. Did you get that do you understand?”
I’m finally reading Yuri Herrera’s musical stories which have been sitting on my coffee table for too long during this strange era we live in where nobody has time to read fiction until you’re a dependent-less person who contracts the plague. Anyhow, if you like the sound of blood and sex and song set in the magic of Mexico — I highly recommend the read. (Patti Smith loves them too!)
I also made a new visual poem (below). Another to file away into the loose canon formed by the strange medical condition that is ‘young, hot, and single in new york city,’ as put by an ex coworker. Symptoms: to be young and distraught. Cure: to clutch the unbearable lightness of being, buoyed by transient glows, anchored by depths unseen.
For the best reading experiences on these — take an extra minute and take it slow, reread a couple times, let the mind simmer. Poetry demands sincere attention.
A snack to prepare the palate for today:
To say homeboy, daydream, decanter, meadowland, rhythm.
To say anything.
To listen to the sum of every silence.
To give a name to the space full of promise.
And then to fall silent.
