Today channeling my best Thom Eagle. Thom is a British chef who gardens; I open his emails on receipt.

you walk into the window that lights up the street — thank god matthew's at the bar, you haven't seen him in a year, busy being delinquent at life, petitioning the wind why am i like this? with no answer — but it's ok, he remembers you and mixes you something nice, not because you deserve it but because you showed up, and with bare hearts you pick up the conversation like the war is over, joel and andy are still alive, and according to the will of the wind — so are you
A few things that have brought me light:
Berhana has one of my favorite artist journeys. Listen to his newest album AMÉN የዘላን ህልም and watch his accompanying short film The Nomad's Dream. WOW! has a Childish Gambino feel?
I've enjoyed Brian Sholis's mini music series via Frontier Magazine. Read/listen here and here for the hope of indie ecosystems and what happens after Bandcamp. One day... a music issue of hyperdisciplinary will come. Cooking on it.
Orphan Guitars in Brooklyn has injected some pretty cost effective sonic therapy into my days. I kicked myself for forgetting to charge the new-used electric to the business card, then remembered my only ambition is to make -$0 with my guitars. Sometimes it's nice to be a no0b.
I got my first pair of Levi's at The Consistency Project. Natasha's been sourcing vintage Levi's for eight years!!! and there was a freak pair, eschewed classic styles, made for someone with an atypical hip-to-waste-ratio, my miracle baby. Maddy didn't believe it would ever find an owner. She said I was an exercise in overcoming her unbelief.
Like the endeavor of the artist - that your work suspends disbelief, shines against it. Calms the grief that is as yet unresolved, that stays long beyond the time the waiting room of your heart has closed for the night.
much love & fix yourself something nice,
